Compensation: Up to $140,000 Base Salary
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a publicly traded SaaS company looking to add an Accounting Manager to its growing finance organization. This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition, particularly consumption-based and usage-driven revenue models.
The ideal candidate enjoys digging into complex revenue arrangements, understands how billing activity translates into recognized revenue, and is comfortable working within NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM).
Beyond revenue accounting, this individual will play an important role in the broader general ledger and month-end close process.
What You’ll Be Owning:
Own key aspects of the revenue recognition process under ASC 606, with a focus on consumption-based, usage-based, and subscription revenue models
Manage revenue accounting activities within NetSuite ARM, including revenue arrangements, allocation, recognition schedules, and reconciliations
Analyze customer contracts, billing activity, and usage data to ensure revenue is recognized accurately and in the appropriate periods
Investigate revenue discrepancies, troubleshoot system issues, and improve the flow of information between billing and accounting
Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger analysis
Maintain revenue-related balance sheet accounts, including deferred revenue and unbilled receivables
Partner with Finance, Billing, Sales Operations, and other internal teams to resolve accounting issues and streamline processes
Support quarterly reviews, annual audits, and financial reporting requirements within a publicly traded environment
Identify opportunities to automate reconciliations, improve reporting, and strengthen internal controls
What You Bring to the Table:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within SaaS, technology, or another recurring revenue business
Strong understanding of ASC 606 and experience accounting for subscription, usage-based, or consumption-based revenue
Hands-on experience with NetSuite, particularly Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), strongly preferred
Solid general ledger accounting experience, including month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries
Ability to work through complex revenue arrangements and investigate discrepancies between billing systems and the GL
Experience in a publicly traded company or supporting SEC reporting and SOX controls is a plus
CPA preferred but not required
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where processes and systems continue to evolve
Why This Opportunity?
Exposure to complex SaaS revenue models beyond traditional subscription accounting
Opportunity to take meaningful ownership of revenue accounting while remaining involved in broader GL activities
Work within a publicly traded environment with established reporting requirements
Partner cross-functionally to improve revenue processes, systems, and reporting
Strong opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical accounting and hands-on operational execution
