What the Inc. 5000 measures

Published every year since 1982, the Inc. 5000 ranks privately held U.S. companies by revenue growth over a three-year period. The 2023 list measured growth from 2019 through 2022; years defined by economic uncertainty, rising costs, and one of the tightest hiring markets in memory. Out of 5,000 honorees nationwide, District Partners placed at No. 203, first among all companies based in Washington, D.C., and inside the top four percent of the list overall, a result we’re grateful for, in years that tested every company on the list

Growth built on a different model

We didn’t get here by adding headcount or chasing volume. From the start, District Partners was built as the alternative to the high-turnover, low-touch recruiting model: every search is led by a senior partner, sourced from an off-market network, and run with accountability to the right outcome rather than a placement fee.

As client demand grew, so did our scope: from executive and professional search into a full Interim Solutions practice, placing fractional and interim leaders and deploying specialized project teams across compliance, technology, and corporate transactions. The through-line never changed: senior people, deep relationships, and work we’re willing to put our name on.
