The Basics
The company builds software supporting healthcare workflows, where understanding how people use the product matters as much as the technology behind it. It is expanding its engineering team to deliver new capabilities while strengthening an existing platform serving healthcare customers. The opportunity combines the breadth of a small product team with the engineering demands of a security-conscious, regulated environment.
What You'll Be Owning
Bring AI into everyday healthcare workflows. Mature early capabilities and build new functionality that turns emerging technology into practical product experiences.
Own features through the full development lifecycle. Shape requirements, make implementation decisions, build and test solutions, and stay involved as they reach production and evolve.
Connect the product more deeply across healthcare systems. Expand APIs and integrations that improve information exchange with clinical and business applications.
Make data more useful to customers. Build reporting and business intelligence capabilities that help users understand and act on information within the platform.
Strengthen the foundation as the product grows. Improve automated testing, maintainability, security, and reliability across the services you develop.
Influence what gets built and how it works. Partner directly with product and engineering colleagues to resolve ambiguity and balance usability, technical complexity, and customer needs.
The Environment
You’ll join a small engineering team with established senior contributors, where developers participate in product conversations and remain close to their work after release. AI is expected to represent a substantial share of development investment over the next 12 to 18 months, alongside significant analytics and integration initiatives. Strong backend capability is central, while full-stack engineers with frontend strengths will also find opportunities to contribute. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, with openness to exceptional candidates bringing staff- or principal-level experience.
What You Bring To The Table
Five or more years of professional software engineering experience, including delivering and supporting production applications.
Extensive backend development experience with typed JavaScript and a server-side JavaScript runtime, including building maintainable services and improving existing applications.
Experience with databases, API development, messaging systems, and persistent bidirectional communication between applications.
Experience writing automated tests using modern frameworks, with browser-based application testing experience especially valuable.
Practical familiarity with large language models and their use in software development or product functionality; specialized model training and fine-tuning expertise is not required.
The judgment to clarify incomplete requirements, explain tradeoffs, and collaborate with product stakeholders on workable solutions.
Small-team SaaS experience is especially valuable. Healthcare terminology and workflow knowledge are strong advantages; other regulated-industry experience, frontend or mobile development, analytics, and highly available systems are also welcome.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Compensation: $145,000 - $200,000
Location: Rewmote // Austin metro preferred, with candidates throughout the United States welcome.
Engagement Type: Full-time, direct hire.
